There are two kinds of people in the world: those who are comfortable staying at home working towards their dream careers, and those who decide to go on adventures far away from their comfort zone. As long as you wake up in the morning with excitement and passion, both ways of living are good. The problem is, though, that many people end up waking up one morning, wondering why they didn’t do the things they always wanted to. For Ursel Barwinski, she took that realization and this lack of inspiration as a sign and decided to leave her life in Germany as well as her current position as art director to go explore the world. With a flight ticket in hand and the motivation to go shoot more, Ursel flew to Canada, ready for a new adventure.
I came across Ursel’s work while she was exploring the West Coast of Canada through her Instagram page, @whateverhellofriday, and instantly connected with her work. Perfectly capturing the West Coast’s surfing scene and the wilderness that surrounds it, it was only natural to ask Ursel to send us a few photos that we could share with you online.
Warning: Looking at her photos might bring up a FOMO feeling and make you quit your job in a matter of minutes. We’re not sorry though.
