I love to be in the water. It’s like therapy. When you have troubles or you’re in a bad mood, dive into the water on a windy, frozen winter’s day—it will get you in the right place and help you forget all your little problems. But after my last article, ‘Textures of the Sea’, I moved a little further inland, very close to the mountains. In those days I rediscovered a different therapy. Yes, I say rediscovered because I’m an ex-mountain biker. I really know these mountains. It was like seeing a good friend again. Walking in the snow in the strong wind helps me feel that same sensation I get when I’m in the water—just facing the elements with my camera.
