Morning Connection | Breath and Movement

Surf anxiety is a real thing! Looking at the surf report before bed and dreaming of the possibilities for an epic surf the next morning can really hinder a good night’s sleep. So, early to bed early to rise, may be a bit easier said than done. If getting a good night’s sleep wasn’t a part of your agenda then a morning stretch should be.

Connecting with the body, mind & breath can have more of an effect physically and mentally than you would think.

Breath is essential to life. It is the first thing we do when we are born and the last thing we do when we leave. In between that time, we take about half a billion breaths. What we may not realize is that the mind, body, and breath are intimately connected and can influence each other. Our breathing is influenced by our thoughts, and our thoughts and physiology can be influenced by our breath.

This sequence is great to do first thing in the morning on the beach or in the evening after a long day in the water. It is a great way to stretch and wake up the whole body. You do not have to be an experienced yoga practitioner to enjoy this sequence, simply turn your awareness inward and enjoy spending some quality time with your body and breath.
