After the rent of our Hyundai i30, we left for the highest road of Europe, direction “Col de la Bonette”. With no clouds on the horizon and not that many people on the road, I can’t help but dream of skateboarding down these roads. The landscapes here are really lunar. It’s wild and it’s cold. A griffon vulture fly over us—we see his shadow before raising our heads to see it in all its size, surely attracted by the hares frolicking in the plains below. No noise around, except for the wind blowing in the grass, and some marmots whistling. The change of scenery we have the chance to witness here is intense, especially when you think that we’re only a few kilometres away from the seaside.
